Starting Salary Range: $61,883 - $84,194

Job Summary:

The Application Specialist is responsible for application support, database management, installation, and maintenance of software while also supporting the daily administration and management of the Metropolitan Nashville Airport Authority's Enterprise Systems, and serves as a key liaison between the business system owner, system users, vendors, and IT support staff.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Coordinates with business owners and vendors to research, recommend, select, implement, manage and support configuration of software packages purchased for business needs.
  • Communicates with users to resolve configuration problems and to document business requirements.
  • Basic proficiency with programming or scripting languages.
  • Experience with tools to include Power BI, Power Automate, and Power Forms.
  • Functions as database administrator.
  • Develops and reviews disaster and business recovery processes for critical information systems to ensure a quick recovery in event of an outage or disruption.
  • Defines databases and maintains accuracy and consistency in data dictionary for all applications.
  • Assists with analyzing functional needs of analytical reporting applications supporting business processes.
  • Performs necessary research to create functional documents.
  • Fields daily user questions about the ERP (AX) system and troubleshoots users' issues.
  • Supports web GIS applications using Esri Web App Builder, Story Maps, Collector, Survey 123 within the ArcGIS Online or Portal platform.
  • Integrates GIS with other software technologies.
  • Develops and maintains integration of databases between GIS, BIM, and airport enterprise systems.
  • Provides GIS technical guidance and assistance.
  • Consults with supervisors and users on new projects and needs.
  • Analyzes technical problem areas, troubleshoots, and identifies new business opportunities.
  • Develops and designs general and detailed information systems to meet business needs.
  • Prepares test data and makes test runs of new programs.
  • Documents and maintains historical records of programs, modifications, and operations activities.
  • Programs and maintains desktop and mobile software applications for enterprise-wide data collection.
  • Creates flowcharts.

Qualifications

Required:

High School Diploma.
2 - 4 years - Program development, project management, or related experience.

Preferred:

Bachelor's Degree - In information technology, management information systems, business information systems, or related field.
4 - 7 years - Program development, project management, or related experience.
